JP THE WAVY Signs With Pacific Music Group as First Major Act at New PMG Japan
Hong Kong-based Pacific Music Group (PMG) has launched a Tokyo office, PMG Japan, and signed Japanese rapper JP THE WAVY. The long-term 360 deal covers recorded music and management, and it is PMG Japan's first major signing. The deal was announced on October 8, and JP THE WAVY is set to start releasing new music through the partnership this fall.
About the deal
PMG was launched in November 2025 by NE-YO, Sonu Nigam, MC Jin and former Warner Music Asia co-president Jonathan Serbin. The Tokyo office is co-led by Tomomi Takeshima and MiMi Shimada, and it is meant to work both ways: taking Japanese artists to audiences abroad and bringing international acts to fans in Japan and across Asia.
For JP THE WAVY, PMG plans to grow his audience across Asia while pursuing opportunities in the United States and other Western markets. He broke through in 2017 with "Cho Wavy De Gomenne," the video above, and in 2021 he joined Good Gas on "Bushido" from the soundtrack to F9: The Fast Saga.
