XG released their new single "DEPENDS" on November 6, rolling out at midnight in each country. The release has two tracks, the title song "DEPENDS" and "S.A.D," and it comes with the group's first U.S.-only CD (per Pia, October 8).

"S.A.D" is described as a song that asks whether facing sadness is a weakness or a strength, written for the "Sad ones" around the world.

Release events in Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo

According to XG's official site, the release is being marked with events in three cities: pop-ups at two GiGO stores in Shanghai (Oct. 30 – Nov. 19), pop-ups at Taipei Underground Mall and TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Songyan in Taipei (dates vary by venue, Nov. 1 – 17), and a campaign at TOWER RECORDS Shibuya in Tokyo from November 6, with purchase bonuses and a panel exhibition.

On release day, fans in several cities have a real place to go. The launch doesn't stop at streaming.

"THE CORE" world tour heads to dome finals in Tokyo and Osaka

XG are currently on their second world tour, "XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE," with 33 shows across Asia, Europe, Australia and North America. The finals, THE CORE FINAL "1" & "7", take place at Tokyo Dome on February 10 and 11, 2027, and at Kyocera Dome Osaka on February 27 and 28.

Giving fans a physical place to meet a new song on release day is an idea that scales down. Even one record store or venue playing your track on the day gives you something real to post about.
