Japanese Music Showcase 'matsuri' Heads to Asia for the First Time: AiNA THE END, milet and LiSA to Play Bangkok in February 2027
On October 16, MUSIC WAY PROJECT, a joint initiative of TOYOTA GROUP and CEIPA (Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association), the organizer of MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN, announced "matsuri '27: Japanese Music Experience BANGKOK." The showcase, which brings Japanese music to audiences overseas, will hold its first Asian edition at UOB LIVE in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, February 13, 2027.
AiNA THE END, milet and LiSA, with SU-METAL and Thailand's POTATO
The lineup features AiNA THE END, whose "On The Way," the opening theme for season 2 of the anime DAN DA DAN, became her fastest song to pass 300 million streams; milet, who sings "The Story of Us," the ending theme for season 2 of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End; and LiSA, who has headlined solo shows across Asia, North America and Europe. SU-METAL, lead vocalist of BABYMETAL, and POTATO, a Thai pop-rock band active for more than 20 years, join as special guests.
Second edition after Los Angeles, marking 140 years of Japan-Thailand relations
The first matsuri took place in Los Angeles in March 2025 with Ado, ATARASHII GAKKO! and YOASOBI. Bangkok, the second host city, will mark 140 years of diplomatic relations with Japan in 2027. The organizers say they will deepen ties between MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN and Thailand's major music awards. The event is selected for Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry IP360 content industry program, with special cooperation from the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
Tickets go on sale November 1 in Thailand
UOB LIVE is on the 6th floor of EMSPHERE, next to BTS Phrom Phong station. The show is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. local time. Tickets go on sale on THAI TICKET MAJOR on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. Thailand time (1 p.m. JST), priced from 2,800 to 3,800 baht. The show is produced by NHK Enterprises and Thailand's AVALON LIVE.
A note from BRUSH MUSIC
After Los Angeles, the second matsuri goes to Asia. All three headliners reached listeners abroad through anime theme songs, and they will share the stage with POTATO, a band Thai audiences have loved for two decades. The show is built not only to bring Japanese music overseas, but to put it alongside local artists. As music awards across Asia connect, more chances may open for Japanese artists on local charts and shows.
